There are four official parking garages surrounding the John Wayne airport terminal building, A1, A2, B2 and C and an off-site parking lot across Interstate-405 in Irving. The hourly fee is $2 for all of them while the daily fee is $16 for the off-site parking and $20 for the parking garages.

Valet parking services are available during day hours at an additional fee of $10 per hour or $30 per day for the parking garages.

Charging stations for electric vehicles can be found in all the parking areas while wide parking spaces and van-parking spaces can be found in most.

Transfers at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport

Car Rental – The John Wayne Airport car rental desks are located across from the John Wayne statue on the Arrival level between Terminals A and B.

Return your rented vehicle, if rented from one of the onside rental car companies, on the lower level of the Parking Structure housing Parking A2 and B2, accessible from the Ground Transportation Center in between the Parking areas.

Off-site rental car companies usually offer shuttle service from their location to the airport.

Bus – The local bus Route 76, provided by OCTA (Orange County Transportation Authority) stops curbside outside Terminal B. They arrive once an hour from each direction (Eastbound or Westbound) during weekdays from morning to evening.

The closest Greyhound stop can be found in Santa Ana Train Station a few miles away.

Shuttle – iShuttle route 400A runs between Tustin Metrolink Station and the airport from morning to evening during weekdays. A single journey fare is $1.00.

Private Shuttle companies operate from the Ground Transportation Center. Reservations only.

Train – There is no train station directly at the airport, but Santa Ana, Irvine and Tustin train stations are approximately 10 miles from John Wayne airport. Taxi is the best choice to transfer from the train station to the airport, except from Tustin during weekdays when the iShuttle route 400A runs at a low cost.

TaxiTaxis can be pre-booked and will drop travelers off outside the terminal of departure.

Covid-19 Rapid Testing at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport

Pre-security in Terminal B on Departure level travelers can get a rapid Hoag Covid-19 test with results in 15-30 minutes.

This test may not be approved by all airlines or destinations so make sure it suits what you are required to present before opting for this test. The test costs $139 and is available from 8.00AM to 5.00PM Monday-Friday.
