Baggage Claim at John Wayne Airport

The baggage claim area is located on the lower level, Arrivals, of all terminals. Which baggage carousel your baggage will arrive at depends on which terminal you arrive at as they are assigned to the separate terminals as follows:

Carousels 1 and 2 are utilized by the airlines in Terminal A and oversized luggage pickup is located behind Carousel 2 while the Airline Baggage Claim offices are near Carousel 1.

Carousels 3 and 4 are utilized by airlines in Terminal B with oversized luggage pickup is behind Carousel 3 and the Airline Baggage Claim offices are located near Carousel 4.

Carousels 5, 6 and 7 are utilized by the airlines in Terminal C. Oversized luggage can be picked up behind Carousel 6 and the Airline Baggage Claim offices are situated near Carousel 5.

International arrivals claim their baggage at Carousel 7.

Transfers at John Wayne Airport

Car Rental – The onsite car rental desks at John Wayne Airport are located on the Arrivals level between Terminals A and B, across from the John Wayne statue.

Pick-up and return of a rented vehicle take place on the lower level of the Ground Transportation Center.

Off-site car rental companies collect their customers from the Ground Transportation Center in the center of the Parking Garage opposite the terminal building to shuttle them to their location.

Bus – The local bus Route 76, provided by OCTA (Orange County Transportation Authority) stops curbside outside Terminal B once an hour in each direction (Eastbound or Westbound) from morning to evening during weekdays.

The closest Greyhound stop is found at Santa Ana Train Station.

Shuttle – iShuttle route 400A runs between the airport and Tustin Metrolink Station during the weekdays. It runs at least once an hour from morning to evening and it costs $1.00.

Private shuttle companies are located in the Ground Transportation Center available through reservations only.

Train – Irvine, Santa Ana and Tustin train stations are all less than 10 miles from the airport. Santa Ana and Irvine are most easily reached via taxi, while Tustin can be reached through the iShuttle route 400A during weekdays. Amtrak, Metrolink and Metro operate from one or more of these train stations.

ATMs at John Wayne Airport

There are ATMs on the airside for both arriving and departing travellers. For arriving passengers they are located in the Baggage Claim area on the Arrivals level (lower level) near Carousels 1, 4 and 6/7.

Currency Exchange Services at John Wayne Airport

There is no currency exchange service at the airport.

Helping Hands is a free service the airport provides for individuals with hidden disabilities like Autism to ease some of the stress that can be associated with airport travel.

Before arriving at the airport you are asked to contact the airport either by phone, the one listed above, or through email info@ocair.com to speak directly with the staff about the assistance needed.

When you arrive at the airport you can dial “0” from any Courtesy phone located throughout the terminal or stop by the Information Booth in Terminal B on Arrival level.

The Helping Hand service is available from 6.00AM to 11.00PM daily.

Covid-19 Rapid Testing at John Wayne Airport

Located Pre-security in Terminal B on Departure level travelers can get a rapid Hoag Covid-19 test with results in 15-30 minutes.

This test may not be approved by all airlines or countries so make sure it is before opting for this test. The testing is $139 and available Monday-Friday from 8.00AM to 5.00PM.

The water refill stations are located next to the restrooms and adjacent to the water fountains in all the terminals. It is free of charge to fill up any size of water bottle with cold, fresh and filtered water.

There are four parking garages surrounding the terminal building and one off-site parking lot across Interstate-405 in Irvine.

Taxi – Taxi ranks are located in Terminal C, near Column 14, on Arrival level and in Ground Transportation Center between Terminals A and B on Arrival level.
